The Appraisal and Strategy aim to:

1. Provide a brief history of the area;
2. Identify those elements of the Milton Abbas Conservation Area that contribute to its character; 
3. Identify those elements which detract from the character and appearance; and
4. Propose measures to maintain or improve the positive character, local distinctiveness and sense of place.
